Musically inclined, but...
My parents encouraged me to be in choir and band throughout my K-12 years. Sadly, my proficiency on the tuba doesn't translate well to Sunday worship services. ;-)
During junior high, I took a lot of flack from other kids for being one of the FIVE guys who sang in choir at our small school. I actually quit for one semester, but ended up going back to it when I realized that the peer pressure was less of a concern than me missing it. Between my senior year of high school and first year of college, I bought TONS of CDs and really enjoyed groups like DC Talk, Audio Adrenaline, Steve Camp, Steven Curtis Chapman, WhiteHeart, and Petra.
For the last 15 years, I haven't really been a "music aficionado"... I have sung in chorales/choirs/ensembles throughout that time, but haven't listened to music much at all. My commute has typically been spent listening to sports talk shows or news radio. Lately, I have switched over to listening to sermons/lectures in the car, which has been an enjoyable change... but still haven't returned to music. You would think with all of this exposure I would be a music fanatic. I simply have not been.
A few months ago, I was told about Pandora, which allows me to listen to a variety of music for free online. Although I don't do it as often as I would like, I am being drawn back to the enjoyment of listening to music. Weird things are occuring - like actually hearing the original track from a song we sing for Sunday worship! ;-)
I am realizing that I need to incorporate worship music into my Monday-to-Saturday, not just on Sundays... it is proving to be a blessing.
